Down and Dirty on the Farm

Baby steps to the Tough Mudder. Survivor Mud Run at Del Osso Farms in Lathrop was a blast. I now know I need to work on cardio, trail running and some arm strength because those monkey bars were not happening. We had a great time getting through the rest of the obstacles. Basically, it served the purpose I was looking for. A good short run, that would tell me what I needed to work on to prep for the Tough Mudder.

We're in the 2nd month of our Insanity workout. Haven't lost a pound, but I can do a lot more push ups than ever before. Not so bad for a 42 year old little girl who likes to play in the mud. I'm thinking this example of it's never too late is great for my boys. Hopefully this getting heart healthy bug will hit them, too. Lead by example.

Insanity

Life is Crazy.
One day everything is smooth sailing. The next it's just out of control. Not always in a bad way.
This is one of those times. Good way times. Happy times. Busy times. CrR@Zeee times.

Above is a picture of the Boys on the cruise we took in September in Italy. You wouldn't know it, but 4 months later, the captain of that ship fell overboard in to a lifeboat as the ship tilted, killing many. First of that man is crazy if you think I believe that story for one single second. Secondly, how crazy that we were on that ship just four months ago, and now it's never to sail again. So surreal. But my boys will always have an interesting story, that they were once passengers of the ill fated Costa Concordia.

Speaking of being crazed and deranged.. I registered to participate in the September Tough Mudder.
Hello? What was I thinking? They are going to laugh this 42 year old lady right out of there. But how kick ass will I be when I pass that finish line.

Freakin' insane I tell you!

I figured how else would I get motivated to get in shape? I'm getting old. Gravity is taking over. All these extra pounds are really weighing me down. It's time to get busy. What better motivation then facing impending death by psycho obstacles? My team mates offer extra motivation, as we are a huge team of co-workers getting ready to battle this Mudder out!

So my days are filled with work, taking care of the family, and exercising. Many times the house has turned in, and you'll find me on the hamster wheel. Or the house is still asleep, and I'm jumping around like a lunatic in the living room, or again running on the hamster wheel. Today I even tried the Shaun T Insanity DVDs, and let me tell you, just the Fit Test made me want to cry. My arse and legs are KILLING me. But the plan is, finish procrastinating, and get back on the hamster wheel. I think I'll put on a little Prince - Let's Go Crazy on the iPod.

Happy trails!
